Investment Insurance - Export Credit Insurance

The types of export credit insurance include "Export Credit Insurance" which covers export and intermediary trade on a case-by-case basis and "Short-term Comprehensive Insurance" which inclusively covers export and intermediary trade of a company.

This insurance covers losses suffered by a commercial bank, etc. that provide loans to a foreign importer to purchase goods and services. The said losses may be incurred when the relevant commercial bank is unable to receive repayment of the loan due to (i) war, revolution, prohibition of foreign currency conversion into currency such as yen or dollar, suspension of remittance or force majeure such as natural disaster, etc. or (ii) bankruptcy or default of an importer.
